Women’s Swimming Starts Season at Emory and Henry

EMORY, Va.- The Randolph women's swimming team opened their season on Saturday at Emory and Henry. While the WildCats lost to the host Wasps118-48, they outscored visiting Warren Wilson 79-68.

Bryana Smith had a pair of second place finishes for Randolph. She was the runner-up in the 200m IM with a time of 2:49.10 and the 100m butterfly in 1:18.85. Molly McNair was second in the 800m free with a final time of 13:09.88.

In the 100m free, the 'Cats had a 3-4-5 finish. Ava Skinner had the fastest time of the trio (1:18.40) followed by Hannah Cloven (1:37.18), and Jasmine Beck (1:37.74).

Eva Pontius placed third in the 200m free in a time of 2:49.63. She also had a fourth place result in the 100m backstroke (1:31.48).

Kyra Miller was the top WildCat in the 50m free as she swam a time of 33.69 to come in fourth. Fellow 'Cats Cloven (41.79) and Beck (42.05) followed her.

The 200m medley relay team of Pontius, Skinner, Smith, and Miller came in second with a time of 2:27.89.

Randolph returns to action on October 29 when they travel to Ferrum. Start time for the meet is at 5:00 p.m.
