FERRUM, Va.- The Randolph women's swimming team took on Ferrum in a dual meet on Friday evening. The WildCats won a close decision over the Panthers 112-109.
Bryana Smith (Williamsburg, Va./Lafayette) led the 'Cats with three first place finishes on the night. She claimed the 200 yard fly (2:41.36), 500 yard free (6:35.55), and the 100 yard fly (1:06.67).
Kyra Miller touched the wall first in the 50 yard free as she swam a time of 31.24. She was second in the 100 yard free with a time of 1:13.28.
Ava Skinner (Lynchburg, Va./Brookville) won the 200 IM in 3:00.46. She also had second-place results in the 100 breast (1:22.57) and the 200 breast (3:09.76).
Molly McNair (New South Wales, Australia/Figtree) claimed the 200 free in 2:42.55. She added a second-place result in the 200 IM (3:13.94) and a third place finished in the 200 back (3:05.63).
Hannah Cloven (Fredericksburg, Va.) had a pair of third-place results. She was third in the 200 free (3:08.73) and the 50 free (38.55).
Eva Pontius (Lynchburg, Va.) had a second-place result in the 100 back (1:17.14) and the 200 back (2:51.34). She came in third in the 1000 yard free with a time of 13:53.71.
Jasmine Beck (Manassas, Va.) was fourth in the 100 back (1:46.85), 100 breast (2:03.26), and the 50 free (38.66).
The 200 yard medley team of McNair, Skinner, Smith, and Miller finished first in a time of 2:18.16. The 200 yard free squad of Jasmine Beck, Cloven, Pontius, and Miller were the runners up with a time of 2:18.86.
The team will next compete against Sweet Briar next Friday at 5:00 p.m.
