GREENSBORO, N.C.- Visiting Randolph led early in the first half but Guilford came back to overtake the WildCats as the Quakers won 72-39 on Wednesday night at Ragan-Brown Fieldhouse. Guilford improves to 14-5 overall and 6-4 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference while Randolph falls to 7-12 overall and 3-7 in the ODAC.
The WildCats got out to a 7-0 lead just over two minutes into the game and led 9-2 just under the 17 minute mark. Guilford would go on to outscore the 'Cats 39-10 to leap ahead 40-19 at halftime.
The Quaker defense held Randolph to 6-of-33 shooting from the floor in the second half. Overall, Guilford was 30-of-66 (45.5%) to the WildCats' 13-of-60 (21.7%).
Justin Lowe (Reidsville, N.C./Reidsville) led the WildCats with nine points in 13 minutes off of the bench. Justin Dula (Taylorsville, N.C./Alexander Central) added eight points and CJ Loving (Madison Heights, Va./Amherst County) six points.
Randolph returns to the RAD this Saturday as it hosts Eastern Mennonite. Game time is at 2:00 p.m. The WildCats won the earlier meeting between the two teams back on January 11 62-56.
