Randolph Men’s Basketball Plays Longwood in Exhibition

CJ Loving pulled down 12 rebounds for the WildCats

FARMVILLE, Va.- For the second straight season, the Randolph men's basketball team played Division I Longwood University in an exhibition game for the WildCats. The Lancers won by the final score of 78-53.

Trailing 5-0 in the first half, the WildCats cut the deficit to two points, 5-3, at 16:51. Longwood would go on a 12-0 run to go ahead 17-3 with 10:41 remaining in the half and led 34-21 at the break.

The Lancers increased their lead in the second half with Randolph getting to within 19 points at 57-38 with 8:53 remaining to play. The WildCats shot nearly 43% (12-of-28) from the floor in the second half and were 4-of-10 from beyond the three-point arc.

Brian Smith (Dumfries, Va./C.D. Hylton) led the 'Cats with 12 points. Jerry Goodman (Suffolk, Va./Portsmouth Christian School) added nine points with Tri'Mayal Cash (Lynchburg, Va./Liberty)chipping in eight points. CJ Loving (Madison Heights, Va./Amherst County) pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds.

Randolph returns to regular season action on Wednesday as it hosts William Peace. Game time will be at 7:00 p.m.
