Fields Named to ODAC Men's Basketball Third Team

Box Score

FOREST, Va.- The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) released its All-Conference team in men's basketball on Friday. Randolph was represented by senior Ryan Fields (Edgewood, Md./Loyola Blakefield) on the Third Team. This is Fields' second straight selection after being named to the Third Team last season.

Despite missing eight games in 2017-18, Fields was able to average nearly 16 points per game (15.9) to lead the WildCats in scoring and rank fourth in the ODAC. His 16.5 average in conference play is fifth.

Fields had five 20+ scoring games this past year with a season-high 29 points in a 79-71 overtime win over Eastern Mennonite just a few weeks ago. He scored in double figures in all but three games over the course of the season.

Last Saturday in a 76-53 setback in Virginia Wesleyan, Fields went over the 1,000-point mark for his career. He became the fifth player in Randolph men's basketball history to do so.

Fields also led the WildCats in rebounding average with 6.4 boards per contest. He had a season-high 14 in the season opener at Ferrum.

Randolph faces Emory and Henry in the ODAC quarterfinals this afternoon in Salem. Tip-off will be at 3:00 p.m.
