LYNCHBURG, Va.- It was a historic night at the RAD Center on Friday as the Randolph women's swimming team hosted its first meet in 10 years as they hosted Sweet Briar. The Vixens won 134-39.
The crowd was loud and supportive during the evening. President Bradley Bateman was the honorary starter for the night's first event which was the women's 200 medley relay.
Leah Dorman had a personal best in the 50 free with a time of 32.83. Golden Dennison (Creston, N.C.) also had a personal best in the 200 free with a finish of 3:02.60. Georgia LeGrand-Carney (Greenville, S.C.) topped her previous best from a week ago in the 200 breast with a time of 4:34.03.
Shelby Lutz (Lynchburg, Va./Brookeville) was second in the 100 free as she posted a time of 1:27.92. Lutz was also part of the group of Dorman, LeGrand-Carney and Dennison that bested their time from a week ago in the 200 free relay with a finish of 2:25.65.
The women will next compete at the ODAC Championships starting on February 9.
