Women's Swimming Competes in Quad Meet at Hollins

ROANOKE, Va. – The Randolph College women's swimming team fell to Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) opponents Virginia Wesleyan University, Hollins University and Emory & Henry College in a quad meet hosted by Hollins on Saturday afternoon.

The WildCats dropped a 111-35 decision to the Marlins, fell 138-30 to the Wasps and suffered a 130-32 defeat to host Hollins.

Golden Dennison claimed another season and personal record in the 500-yard freestyle as the junior swimmer locked down a time of 8:49.92, demolishing her previous record by 11 seconds. Dennison also had the top Randolph time in the 50-yard freestyle, touching the pad in 37.40 seconds.

Katie Thomas earned fourth-place points in the 200 individual medley with a time of 3:25.96 before earning the fastest Randolph time in the 100-yard freestyle, clocking in at 1:23.26 while Teliya Stevenson and Tabitha Stone took the top WildCat times in the 100-yard backstroke and the 200-yard freestyle, respectively. Stevenson touched the pad in 1:59.43 while Stone earned a time of 3:47.83.

Georgia LeGrand-Carney locked down the fastest time for Randolph in the 100-yard breaststroke, touching the pad in 2:01.22 before joining Shelby Lutz, Dennison and Stone in the 400-yard freestyle relay as the foursome clocked in at 6:14.97.

The WildCats will take a break for the Thanksgiving holiday before returning to action when they compete at the Washington and Lee Invitational from Dec. 2-3.
