At the Bast-Cregger Invite, Smith had a busy weekend that was highlighted by top-10 finishes across the board. Smith advanced to the finals in both the 60-meter dash and 60-meter hurdles, clocking times of 7.05 in the prelims and 7.04 in the semifinals of the dash before placing seventh overall in the finals. In the hurdles, he recorded a personal-best 8.62 in prelims and finished fifth in the finals. Smith also posted a strong fourth-place finish in the long jump (6.69m/21-11.5) and placed sixth in the triple jump (12.80m / 42-00).
