Watkins competed at the University of Mount Olive Multi Meet. He placed seventh in the Decathlon with a total of 5.625 points and currently ranks first in the South Region. He set several personal bests in the two-day event. His High Jump measure of 1.79 meters is a personal best for outdoor season as was his 12.85 meter mark in the Shot Put, 5.84 meter leap in the Long Jump, and 39.10 meter toss in the Javelin. His Shot Put toss is now the second-best in WildCat history. He also ran a personal best outdoor time of 17.37 in the 110-meter hurdles.
