Women’s Cross Country Races at Royals XC Challenge

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Randolph College women's cross country team competed at the Royals XC Challenge hosted by Queens University of Charlotte on Friday at McAlpine Park as its final tune-up race before the 2018 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Cross Country Championship. 

Ermela Wurgesa (Clarksburg, Md./Clarksburg) clocked in the fastest Randolph time as the first-year covered the five-kilometer course in a time of 25:45. Teammate Leo Galopin (Rye Brook, N.Y./Ethel Walker) was the next Randolph runner to cross the finish line, posting a time of 26:18. 

Rounding out the field for the WildCats was Michaela Saunders (Lynchburg, Va./E.C. Glass), who finished in 26:33, and Erin Schriever (Cicero, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) who clocked in at 27:13.

The WildCats take the next two weeks off to prepare for the ODAC Championships on Saturday, Oct. 27 hosted by Shenandoah University.
