BRIDGEWATER, Va. – The Randolph College women's cross country team opened its 2018 season at the Bridgewater XC Challenge, hosted by Bridgewater College. The WildCats finished eighth out of eight teams.
Leo Galopin (Rye Brook, N.Y./Ethel Walker) had the top finish for the WildCats as the junior completed the four-kilometer course in 24:00.88. Ermela Wurgesa (Clarksburg, Md./Clarksburg) was the second Randolph runner to cross the line, locking down a time of 24:21.54 while Erin Schriever (Cicero, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) followed behind in a time of 24:24.84.
Elizabeth Nisly from Eastern Mennonite University topped the field with a time 16:43.86 while the host Eagles earned first-place team honors.
The WildCats return to action next weekend when they compete at James Madison University.
