FRONT ROYAL, Va. – The Randolph College volleyball team concluded its 2018 regular season with back-to-back 3-0 wins over Christendom College and Appalachian Bible College on Saturday afternoon.
Game 1: Randolph 3, Appalachian Bible 0
The WildCats defeated Appalachian Bible, 25-19, 25-18, 25-15. Autumn Troxell (Front Royal, Va./Warren County) delivered 13 kills and 21 digs to pace the WildCats. Rebecca Lesnak (Blountville, Tenn./Sullivan Central) landed eight kills for the Randolph offense while Taja Hunley (Dalzell, S.C./Thomas Sumter Academy) and Mackenzie Ambrose (Floyd, Va./Floyd County) each tallied five kills. Ambrose also recorded a team-high four service aces. Brooks Gillerlain (Suffolk, Va./Nansemond-Suffolk Academy) dished out 19 assists to go along with 10 digs while Kennedy Webb (Nassawadox, Va./Northampton) concluded the match with 18 digs.
Game 2: Randolph 3, Christendom 0
The WildCats defeated the host Lady Crusaders, 25-11, 25-17, 25-10. Troxell had 10 kills while Lesnak and Ambrose tallied eight kills apiece. Gillerlain distributed 16 assists while Taylor Webb (Nassawadox, Va./Northampton) collected 14 assists. Defensively, Sam Verhaagen (Virginia Beach, Va./Norfolk Christian) led with 11 digs while Ambrose added eight digs and Gillerlain notched six.
Randolph improves to 12-18 overall and now turns its attention to the 2018 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Tournament where the eighth seeded WildCats will take on top seed Randolph-Macon College in a quarterfinal match on Wednesday, Oct. 31.
