LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Randolph College volleyball team closed out its home schedule with a 3-0 (25-5, 25-11, 25-11) victory over visiting Mary Baldwin University on Thursday night in the RAD.
Prior to the start of the match, seniors Brooks Gillerlain (Suffolk, Va./Nansemond-Suffolk Academy), Rebecca Lesnak (Blountville, Tenn./Sullivan Central) and Autumn Troxell (Front Royal, Va./Warren County) were honored for their contributions over the past four seasons.
The WildCats dominated every set throughout the match, hitting .667 (15-1-21) percent for the first and second sets while fashioning a .440 (14-3-25) hitting percentage for the final set.
Troxell finished the night with a .650 (14-1-20) hitting percentage, leading the team with 14 kills and eight digs. Taja Hunley (Dalzell, S.C./Thomas Sumter Academy) tallied nine kills for the offense and finished with a .667 (9-1-12) hitting percentage while Lesnak hit .500 (7-2-10) percent for the night, collecting seven kills. Mackenzie Ambrose (Floyd, Va./Floyd County) and Gillerlain each tallied three service aces for the night with Gillerlain dishing out 32 assists in the win and Ambrose collecting six digs.
Randolph improves to 10-17, collecting their most wins since 2014, and are back in action tomorrow night for a key Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) at the University of Lynchburg. Game time is set for 5 p.m.
