Meet the Randolph Volleyball Class of 2022

Volleyball Incoming Class of 2022

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Randolph Volleyball welcomes three incoming student-athletes to its roster for the 2018 season. They will join 11 returners on the WildCats.


Maddie Gaus (Summit Christian School - Outside Hitter)

Gaus played varsity all four years and was a captain in her senior year. She was named MVP in the conference tournament as voted on by the coaches. Gaus played for Coastal Hampton Roads Volleyball Club.


Taja Hunley (Thomas Sumter Academy – Middle Hitter)

Hunley was on the varsity volleyball team for two years and was both a captain and an All-Region Player. She also ran varsity track for four years and holds school records in the 400-meter hurdles, 100-meter hurdles, long jump, triple jump, and high jump.


Makayla Murray (Henry A Wise/Warwick – Middle and Right Side Hitter)

Murray's team at Warwick in her senior year went undefeated. She also played club volleyball for Coastal Hampton Roads Volleyball Club.


"I'm really looking forward to working with our new additions along with our returning players," said fifth-year head coach Kara Matthews. "Each of our first-years will bring competitiveness and energy to our gym right away."

Randolph begins its 2018 season on August 31at the 24th annual Cougar Classic. The WildCats play Southern Virginia at 3:00 p.m. followed by host Averett at 5:00 p.m.
