LYNCHBURG, Va.- The Randolph volleyball team released its 2018 schedule on Wednesday. The WildCats host 11 matches at the RAD Center, which represent the most since 2010.

The WildCats begin their season on August 31 at the 24th Annual Cougar Classic hosted by Averett University. The 'Cats play Southern Virginia University at 3 p.m. and then face the host Cougars at 5 p.m. The Knights were 22-8 a year ago while Averett was 32-4, losing in the USA South Conference Championship. The next day, Randolph takes on Old Dominion Athletic Conference rival Roanoke at 1:00 p.m. and wraps up with William Peace at 3:00 p.m.

Randolph hosts its first match of the year on September 5 against Pfieffer. The following weekend, the 'Cats participate in the Roanoke Tournament. The first day features matches against two teams from the USA South in Methodist and Piedmont. A rematch with Averett comes on Saturday with Mary Baldwin rounding out play. After that, the WildCats host defending ODAC champion Randolph-Macon on September 11. Cross-city rival Lynchburg is next up on the 15th at the Hornets' gym.

Back-to-back home matches follow with Regent and new ODAC member Ferrum. After traveling to Southern Virginia, the WildCats begin a challenging four-match stretch against conference rivals.

One of the toughest matchups of the season comes on October 6 when the 'Cats go up against the Captains of Christopher Newport. CNU was 28-4 in 2017 and has been ranked nationally along with being a perennial NCAA Tournament participant. It is part of a three-match road trip for Randolph.

The WildCats play three straight home contests (North Carolina Wesleyan, William Peace, and Emory and Henry) on October 12 and 17. An ODAC tri-match with Eastern Mennonite and Bridgewater follows on the road and the last two home matches come against Washington and Lee and Mary Baldwin. The regular season concludes on the road against Christendom and Appalachian Bible Colleges on October 27.
