LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Randolph College volleyball team extended its winning streak to three as the WildCats took down Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) rival Emory & Henry College 3-0 (25-15, 25-21, 25-22) before downing Regent University in straight sets (25-7, 25-12, 25-12) in its Dig Pink tri-match on Saturday.

The Dig Pink Rally is The Side-Out Foundation's October event that brings together volleyball players across the nation to raise funds for breast cancer research. Money raised through Dig Pink supports Side-Out's game-changing cancer research and programs.

Randolph improves to 7-11, 2-5 ODAC and will cap off its four-game homestand on Tuesday, Oct. 10 when it hosts Roanoke in the RAD Center for a 7 p.m. match up.

Game 1: Randolph 3, Emory & Henry 0

The WildCats opened up a large 13-2 gap in the first set but the Wasps slowly chipped away at Randolph's to rope the score to 22-15. Still Randolph could not be caught as it dished out three straight points to take the opening frame.

The second set saw the WildCats once again, jump out to an early lead, grabbing a 10-3 margin, but the Wasps made quick work of slicing the deficit to 10-8. Randolph maintained a slight edge over Emory & Henry but soon saw it disappear as the Wasps leveled the score to 14-all off of a 6-4 run, forcing the WildCats into a timeout. Coming out of the break, Randolph tacked on three consecutive points to take back the lead and despite a strong Emory & Henry rally, the WildCats were able to hang on as Shelby Bergum (Terrebonne, Ore./Redmond) landed the set winning kill.

Both teams battled hard in the final set, with several lead changes midway through but Randolph would grab the lead permanently when Autumn Troxell (Front Royal, Va./Warren County) landed a kill to bring the score to 20-18. The WildCats capitalized on several Emory & Henry attack errors to increase the point gap but would ultimately close the match off of another Bergum kill, handing Randolph its second ODAC win.

Troxell concluded the match with 13 kills and 12 digs, hitting .524 (13-2-21) while Taylor Webb (Nassawadox, Va./Northampton) added 11 kills and 10 assists, hitting .409 (11-2-22). Bergum and Rebecca Lesnak (Blountville, Tenn./Sullivan Central) each floored eight kills for the offense while Kennedy Webb (Nassawadox, Va./Northampton) recorded a team-high15 digs and Brooks Gillerlain (Suffolk, Va./Nandsemond-Suffolk Academy) dished out 35 assists.

Game 2: Randolph 3, Regent 0

The WildCats made quick work of the Royals in set one for a 25-7 score before following with a 25-12 win in sets two and three.

Troxell recorded seven kills for the match while Kennedy Moulton (Springfield, Va./West Springfield) chipped in five kills. Bergum, Taylor Webb, Lesnak and Mackenzie Ambrose (Floyd, Va./Floyd County) added four kills apiece for the offense. Sam Verhaagen (Virginia Beach, Va./Norfolk Christian) led the defense with 10 digs while Kennedy Webb added eight digs and Lindsey Taylor (Virginia Beach, Va./Salem) chipped in six digs.
