Women’s Tennis Competes at ITA Regional Tournament

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Randolph College women's tennis team competed in its first day of the ITA Regional Tournament hosted by Mary Washington University.

In doubles action, the tandem of Ranita Opoku-Sarfo (Stafford, Va./Brook Point) and Ashley Schmitz (Keswick, Va./Homeschool) fell in Flight B, 8-0. 

Heading into singles play, Opoku-Sarfo and Hayley Ashford (Providence Forge, Va./New Kent) both fell 8-0 in their respective flights, playing pro-sets to beat the incoming rain while Schmitz fell 6-4, 6-3 in Flight A singles. 

The WildCats next compete on Saturday, Oct. 6 when they host Southern Virginia University on their home courts at 2 p.m.
