WildCats Shut Out Hollins on Senior Day 4-0

Randolph's seniors were recognized prior to the game

LYNCHBURG, Va.- The Randolph women's soccer team hosted Hollins on Senior Day in the regular season finale. The WildCats got contributions from its seniors as Randolph shut out Hollins 4-0.

The victory ups Randolph's record to 9-6 overall and 4-6 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference. Hollins concludes its season at 2-14-1 and 1-9.

Senior Sam Hablas (Stafford, Va./Brooke Point) scored the WildCats' first goal of the afternoon in the 8th minute. Sara Bane (Blue Ridge, Va./Lord Botetourt) took a shot that Hollins goalkeeper Kendra Rich deflected and Hablas was there to put in the rebound. Bane assisted senior Alaina Gembach (Lebanon, Va./Abington) in the 15th minute when a rebound off the crossbar came down in front and Gembach put it in.

Gembach scored her second goal of the game off an assist from Hablas to increase the 'Cats lead to 3-0. Her two goals scored are a career-high.

Randolph maintained its 3-0 advantage throughout the second half. The WildCats tallied their fourth and final goal as Brook Ford (Buchanan, Va./James River) sent a long pass to the front of the net and Bane would push it in for her team-leading 12th score of the year.

Senior Shelby Lutz (Lynchburg, Va./Brookeville) got the start in the net. She finished with three saves. Rich had 21 stops for Hollins

Hablas' six goals match her career high that she set in her first season in 2015.

Randolph led in shots 48-3 and in corner kicks 13-0.

The four ODAC wins for Randolph are the sixth time in program history that it has been done.

Prior to the game, Lutz, Hablas, Gembach, and Alex Uzdavinis (Smithfield, Va./Smithfield) were recognized for their contributions to the program.
