ARLINGTON, Va.- The Randolph women's soccer team faced a tough test in Marymount as the two teams played each other on Saturday afternoon. A defensive contest saw the WildCats hold up their lone goal on the way to a 1-0 victory.
The win keeps the 'Cats undefeated at 3-0 for the first time since 2012. In the seventh meeting between the two schools, it is Randolph's first win over the Saints since 1997.

Marymount nearly struck first at 12:55 but Karen Reyes' shot bounced off of the crossbar and her next attempt was blocked. Randolph had two shot attempts denied by Marymount goalkeeper Sydney Sherman.
In the second half, the WildCats could not get the ball on frame in the first 12 minutes with shots by Marisa Santacruce (Chesapeake, Va./Hickory) going high. Finally at 57:45, Hannah Overstreet (Bedford, Va./Liberty) was able to punch the ball in from 18 yards out to the back left of the net for the goal.
The Saints almost tied the game at 61:35 but Courtney Stephens' attempt went off the crossbar. Randolph starting goalkeeper Zoe Waring (Chesapeake, Va./Hickory) had two saves and the WildCat defense was able to keep Marymount off the scoresheet.
Waring picked up three saves for her first career shutout. Sherman turned away two shots for the Saints.
Marymount led in overall shots 12-11. Randolph had seven corner kicks while the Saints had none.
