TOWSON, Md.- The Randolph women's lacrosse team traveled up to Towson, Md. for a Friday night game with Goucher. The Gophers won by the score of 23-5.
The Gophers led 3-0 less than three minutes into the first half. Randolph quickly countered 26 seconds after the third goal as Libby Exline (La Plata, Md./La Plata) found the back of the net to get the WildCats on the board.
Randolph got two goals in quick succession. Hannah Bradley (Wye Mills, Md./Saints Peter and Paul) scored on a free position attempt at 23:44 and 10 seconds later scored off the draw control to even the game at 3-3.
Goucher rattled off five straight goals to go ahead 8-3 with 16:52 remaining in the first half. The 'Cats were able to cut their deficit in half as Dana Cavallo (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Hills) scored with just over 15 minutes left in the frame to make it 8-4. The Gophers put up six more goals to lead 14-4 at halftime.
It was all Gophers in the second half as the hosts ripped off 10 straight goals. Randolph completed the scoring as Bradley tallied her third goal of the evening with 45 seconds left to play.
Bradley had three goals, five draw controls won, two groundballs, and one caused turnover. Exline and Cavallo both finished with a goal each,
Chrissy Shackleford (Warrenton, Va./Kettle Run) stopped 16 shots in goal. She led the Wildcats with six groundballs and three caused turnovers.
Randolph will host Averett on Wednesday at WildCat Stadium. Game time will be at 3:30 p.m.
