BRIDGEWATER, Va.- The Randolph women's lacrosse team concluded its 2018 season on Sunday at Bridgewater. The Eagles won by the final score of 18-4.
The Eagles won the opening draw control and quickly moved downfield. Sarah Yashinskie scored 19 seconds into the contest to give the home team a 1-0 lead.
Bridgewater led 11-0 in the first half. Randolph got on the scoreboard as Rachel Buxton (Sterling, Va.) tallied a free position goal with 6:55 remaining. BC would lead 12-1 at the break.
The WildCats scored three times in the second half. Hannah Bradley (Wye Mills, Md./Saints Peter and Paul) notched her 28th goal of the season on a free position attempt with 13:20 remaining to play. Sarah Perry (Rocky Mount, Va./Franklin County) added scores at the 5:40 and 20 second mark, respectively.
Chrissy Shackleford (Warrenton, Va./Kettle Run) stopped 12 shots in goal for the 'Cats. She ends the season with 169 saves for a career high. That is now the fourth most in a season for Randolph.
Perry's two goals give her 31 for the season. She is the first first-year player in WildCats history to lead the team in goals since Ashley Edwards did it in 2011. Perry also had six draw controls won and two caused turnovers against Bridgewater.
Bradley finishes with 28 goals for a new career high. Her six assists, 34 points, 26 groundballs, and 32 draw controls were also new career marks.
Maddie Peters (Salisbury, Md./James M. Bennett) had five caused turnovers against the Eagles. Her 23 caused turnovers this year was a career high for her.
