Hughes and Marciniak Repeat on Academic Honor List

GRAND LAKE, CO – The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) released its 2017 Zag Sports Division III Academic Honor Roll, and for the second-straight year, the Randolph College women's lacrosse team had two members honored.  For the second time, Leah Hughes and Chelsea Marciniak were the two WildCats honored.

In order to be considered for this honor, a student-athlete has to be a senior or junior and have a cumulative academic GPA of 3.5 or better.

The two captains finished out their career by excelling in the classroom and on the field.  Both players contributed in every position, helping in attack, the midfield, and defense.

Hughes started every game during the year and set career-highs in goals, points, ground balls, and caused turnovers.  She did that while graduating with a degree in psychology and a minor in education.

Marciniak missed the first three games with an injury but was immense the rest of the year.  She posted career-highs in goals, assists, and points, as she led the team with 21 goals and 26 points.  Marciniak graduated with a degree in biology and a minor in chemistry.

The two also worked in the sports information department throughout their time at Randolph College.
