Women's Lacrosse to Raise Awareness in Sole Game of Week
LYNCHBURG, VA – After honoring the seniors on Friday, the Randolph College women's lacrosse team will play its lone game of the week, in what will also be its last home game of the year, on Wednesday. The game will also have an added significance.
The 'Cats (3-10 overall, 0-5 ODAC) will host Bridgewater College (8-4, 3-2) at 7 p.m. While the contest inside the lines will be intense, what is going on outside of the lines is even more important. The WildCats will be wearing yellow shoelaces. It is part of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) initiative to raise awareness for pediatric cancer. SAAC and Randolph athletics has been partnering with Go 4 The Goal, where $4 of every pair of yellow shoelaces goes to supporting families battling the disease. For more information or to help support the cause, go to http://www.go4thegoal.org/. Leah Hughes, the President of the Randolph SAAC and a midfielder, was one of the important people behind the idea. Please support her and the initiative by going to the site.
