LYNCHBURG, Va. -- For the first time this season, Randolph is below .500 after falling 15-5 Sunday in non-conference tilt.
Junior Taylor Klevenz (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill) was the first WildCat to get on the scoreboard as the ODAC's second-leading point scorer tallied her 30th of the season, pulling Randolph to 3-1 early.
After another Oberlin goal, Klevenz struck again to narrow the margin, but four straight Yeowomen goals gave the guests a cushion.
Sophomore Taylor Riccardi (Lexington, Va./Rockbridge Co.) ended that run with a goal off a feed from first-year Addie Moore (Fairfield,Va./Rockbridge County), but Oberlin got the last goal before halftime to take a 9-3 edge into break.
Oberlin scored the first out of intermission, but Randolph scored two straight as senior Ashley Edwards (Sumerduck, Va./Liberty-Bealeton) redirected a loose ball into the net before Klevenz's third.
Klevenz has multiple goals in eight of Randolph's nine contests.
Junior Samantha Fagone (Bayshore, N.Y./Bayshore), who has stopped 50.5% of the shots on goal she has faced this year, turned aside 20 today to take over the ODAC lead in stops.
On Wednesday, Randolph will resume its ODAC slate by hosting Sweet Briar. The game is a "Pink and Blue" game for breast and colon cancer awareness. Fans are encouraged to wear those colors to the contest.
