LYNCHBURG, Va.- Randolph softball released its 2019 schedule on Thursday. Highlighting the season is the WildCats' first ever spring break trip to Florida.
The 2019 campaign gets underway on February 16 as the WildCats participate in the Salem College Tournament. Randolph then travels to Greensboro on February 20 and hosts its first doubleheader on February 23 as Southern Virginia comes to Lynchburg.
Randolph will take part in the Diamond 9 Sunkissed Games in Florida. Of the six teams it will face, four won 20 or more games with Penn State Berks advancing to the NCAA Tournament a year ago. The other five schools are Heidelberg, Thiel, Muhlenberg, Rhodes, and Misericordia. It will the 'Cats first meeting against all six.
The WildCats return home to host Wilson and Mary Baldwin in back-to-back contests on March 9 and 10. The first Old Dominion Athletic Conference games will be at defending ODAC and National Champion Virginia Wesleyan on March 16 with Randolph returning to its home field to host Guilford the following day.
Randolph's homestand concludes on March 20 against Bridgewater. Road trips at Roanoke and across town to the University of Lynchburg follow on March 23 and 26. The WildCats host ODAC newcomer Ferrum on March 30. The Panthers won 23 games in 2017. A non-conference matchup at Pfeiffer closes out the month of March. The Falcons were 37-5 a year ago and won the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship.
The last homestand of the year will be April 6 and 7 against Emory and Henry and Shenandoah. Randolph wraps up the regular season at Randolph-Macon on April 14.
The ODAC Tournament will be April 26-28 at Moyer Complex in Salem, Va.
