FOREST, Va.- The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) on Tuesday released its All-Conference Awards. Randolph senior designated player Lauren Morris (Troy, N.C./West Montgomery) was named to the First Team.
This is Morris' first All-Conference selection. She is the first WildCat designated player since Hannah Cook in 2014 to be named to the First Team and is the third overall.
Morris played in 28 games with 69 at-bats for Randolph in 2018. She had 19 hits for a .279 batting average. She batted in 12 runs while smacking two home runs and one double. In conference play, Morris batted .368 to rank ninth and her .553 slugging percentage was also ninth.
Morris's best performance of the season came against Emory and Henry on April 4. In the first game of the doubleheader, she was 3-for-4 with two homeruns, two runs scored, and five runs batted in. One of those home runs was a grand slam, which was the first of her career. She also broke up a no-hitter by one of the top pitchers in the country in Virginia Wesleyan's Hannah Hull with a single back on April 14.
