LOUISVILLE, Ky.- The National Fastpitch Coaches Association in collaboration with Easton recognized over 6,200 softball players across high school, Division I, II, III, NAIA, and Junior College with the distinction of Scholar-Athletes. Randolph College was represented by Taylor Craft, Kate Hodgkiss, Jordyn Knapp, Courtney Lucado, and Lauren Morris.
ANNANDALE, Va.- On Thursday afternoon, the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) announced the 2018 College Division All-State softball team. Randolph designated player Lauren Morris (Troy, N.C./West Montgomery) was selected to the Second Team.
FOREST, Va.- The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) on Tuesday released its All-Conference Awards. Randolph senior designated player Lauren Morris (Troy, N.C./West Montgomery) was named to the First Team.
SALEM, Va.- The Randolph softball team competed in the ODAC Tournament on Friday afternoon at the James I. Moyer Sports Complex. The WIldCats fell to Randolph-Macon 3-0 in their first game of the day and then dropped a 3-2 extra inning affair to Eastern Mennonite in the elimination game.
LYNCHBURG, Va.- For the 10th straight season, the Randolph softball team has qualified for the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Tournament. Play begins this Friday in Salem, Va. The WildCats will face Randolph-Macon at 2:00 p.m.
LYNCHBURG, Va.- While visiting #4 Randolph-Macon was already locked into the second spot in the upcoming Old Dominion Athletic Tournament this weekend, the WildCats softball team looked to improve its position. The Yellowjackets prevented that from happening as they swept Monday’s doubleheader with scores of 5-0 and 6-0.
WINCHESTER, Va.- Host Shenandoah scored twice in the bottom of the first inning and that was all it needed as it defeated Randolph 2-0 in the first game of a doubleheader on Saturday afternoon. The WildCats bounced back to claim the second game 8-5.
GREENSBORO, N.C.- Randolph softball traveled to Guilford on Friday in a resumption of a game that was suspended back on March 24. The WildCats scored early and were able to get the victory with a 4-2 triumph over the Quakers.
LYNCHBURG, Va.- Randolph softball played host to #1 Virginia Wesleyan in Old Dominion Conference Action on Saturday afternoon. The Marlins remain undefeated on the season with wins of 3-0 and 12-0. The WildCats fall to 12-18 overall and 5-8 in the ODAC.
WildCats Sweep Doubleheader from Eagles
BRIDGEWATER, Va.- The Randolph softball team ended the weekend with a sweep but this time it was in the ’Cats favor. After dropping a twin bill to Eastern Mennonite on Friday at home, Randolph traveled to Bridgewater on Sunday to play the Eagles. The WildCats won with scores of 5-2 and 5-3.
LYNCHBURG, Va.- Looking to gain some momentum after their sweep of Emory and Henry on Wednesday, the WildCat softball team hosted Eastern Mennonite on Friday afternoon. The Royals, however, had the upper hand on the ’Cats as they swept the doubleheader with scores of 9-4 and 5-2.
LYNCHBURG, Va.- With inclement weather forecasted for Saturday, Randolph softball’s ODAC doubleheader with Eastern Mennonite has been moved to Friday afternoon. The first game begins at 3:00 p.m. with the second game following at 5:00 p.m.
EMORY, Va.- Randolph softball traveled to Emory and Henry to face the #25 ranked Wasps in an ODAC doubleheader on Wednesday afternoon. The WildCats picked up two wins with a sweep of E&H at a cold and windy Wasps Field.
LYNCHBURG, Va.- After a rough pattern of weather recently, Thursday afternoon was warm and sunny at the Randolph Softball Complex. The WildCats hosted cross-city rival Lynchburg in an ODAC doubleheader. The Hornets took the first game 16-5 while the ‘Cats claimed the second by the score of 4-1.
GREENSBORO, N.C.- The Randolph softball team returned to action on Saturday as they faced Guilford in the ODAC opener for both teams. The Quakers plated four runs in the bottom of the fifth to go ahead and held off the WildCats 6-4.
NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.- The Randolph softball team had a busy afternoon on Tuesday as it played three games on the second day of the WildCats’ Spring Break trip. The ‘Cats started with a 6-2 win over Penn State-Abington and then dropped a 10-2 decision to Mary Washington and a 3-0 defeat to William Peace to end the day.
NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.- The Randolph softball team began its Spring Break trip on Monday as it played a pair of games. The WildCats took out Cedar Crest 8-0 in five innings in the first game and won 6-5 over Medaille in nine innings. The wind even the ‘Cats record at 5-5.
LYNCHBURG, Va.- The Randolph softball team hosted Greensboro on Wednesday afternoon in the WildCats’ home doubleheader opener. The ‘Cats made it a successful one as they swept the Pride with scores of 2-1 and 3-0.
RALEIGH, NC- Randolph softball wrapped up its two-day trip to North Carolina with two games on Sunday. The WildCats fell in both games with scores of 4-3 to Mississippi University for Women and 4-0 to Salem. The losses drop the ‘Cats overall record to 1-5.
CARY, N.C.- Randolph softball traveled to North Carolina to participate in the Grand Slam Triangle Classic on Saturday. The WildCats split a doubleheader as they won 12-10 over Maryville (TN) in the first game and fell to Rowan 8-3 in the second.
