Equestrian Places Fourth at Zone 4 Championships

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.- The Randolph Equestrian team competed at the Zone 4 Championships at the University of Virginia on Saturday. The team finished in fourth place behind Emory and Henry, Sweet Briar, and Goucher.

There were two results of prominence for the WildCats on the day. Molly McLaughlin (Owings, Md./Northern) took first in Intermediate Fences. Kirby Tidmore (Nashville, Tenn.) was third in the Cacchione Cup. Both riders advance to IHSA Nationals May 2-5.

Tidmore was also third in Open Flat, fifth in Open Fences, and sixth in Individual Open Fences. Michelle Smith (Fredericksburg, Va./Riverbend) took third in Intermediate Flat and Taylor Price claimed third place in Novice Fences while also picking up a pink ribbon in Novice Flat. Sidney Clark (St. Augustine, Fla./Smithson Valley) came in fourth in Walk Trot Canter and Rikki Caretta was fifth in Walk Trot.

Next up for Randolph are the ODAC Championships next Saturday where the WildCats look to defend their 2018 title. The competition will take place at the Bridgewater College Equestrian Center.
