Two Randolph Riders Earn Titles at Regional Championships

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.- Six members of the Randolph Equestrian team competed at the IHSA Regional Championships at the University of Virginia on Sunday. Two riders claimed championships with one earning a reserve championship.

Katie Brown (Winchester, Va./James Woods) took the Regional Title in Walk Trot and Kirby Tidmore (Nashville, Tenn.) won the Open Fences championship. Molly McLaughlin (Owings, Md./Northern) earned the Novice Fences Reserve Championship. All three move on to Zone Championships on April 6.

Riding well but not in the top two placings needed to move on were Charlotte Hudson (Hoquiam, Wa./Hoquiam) placing fourth in Walk Trot, Abby Carpenter (Danville, Va./George Washington) coming in fourth in Walk Trot Canter, Michelle Smith (Fredericksburg, Va./Riverbend) taking fourth in Novice Flat, and Tidmore securing fifth place in Open Flat.
