Equestrian Places Seventh at Winter Tournament of Champions

FREDERICKSBURG, VA.- The Randolph equestrian team returned to competition for the first time in 2019 as they competed at the Winter Tournament of Champions hosted by the University of Mary Washington on Saturday. The WildCats placed seventh overall. Savannah College of Art and Design was the overall winner with Bridgewater the Reserve Champions.

Molly McLaughlin (Owings, Md./Northern) took the blue ribbon in Intermediate Fences. Katie Brown (Winchester, Va./James Wood) was a red ribbon winner in Walk Trot. Michelle Smith (Fredericksburg, Va./Riverbend) claimed a yellow ribbon in Intermediate Flat.

Other results of note included Taylor Price coming in fourth in Novice Flat. Kirby Tidmore (Nashville, Tenn.) was fifth in the flat and Abby Carpenter (Danville, Va./George Washington) was fifth in Walk Trot Canter.

The teams returns to competition on February 10 for a home event at the Riding Center.
