WildCat Equestrian Wins Home Show

Equestrian riders pose with ribbons

LYNCHBURG, Va.- The Randolph Equestrian team hosted its own show on Saturday at the Riding Center. The WildCats came out on top on the day with a total of 34 points to edge out Hollins.

There were three first place rides. Molly McLaughlin (Owings, Md./Northern) took the blue ribbon in Intermediate Flat as did Katie Brown (Winchester, Va./James Wood) in Walk Trot. Brown's first place result sealed the win for the WildCats. Michelle Smith's (Fredericksburg, Va./Riverbend) win in the Novice Flat qualified her for Regional Championships.

Randolph also had three red ribbon performances. Smith and Taylor Price were both second in Novice Fences. Amber Bowman (Boones Mill, Va./Franklin County) placed second in Intermediate Fences.

Kirby Tidmore (Nashville, Tenn.) was third in Open Flat and was also sixth in Open over Fences. Liz Bearisto (Bowie, Md./Bowie) came in third in Novice Flat. Sidney Clark (St. Augustine, Fla./Smithson Valley) and Abby Carpenter (Danville, Va./George Washington) were both fourth in Walk Trot Canter.

Randolph will compete at Lynchburg's show next Saturday.
