WildCat Equestrian Places Fourth at Zone 4 Championships; Three Riders Qualify for Nationals

GREENSBORO, N.C.- Fresh off its ODAC Championship just over a week ago, the Randolph equestrian team competed in the Zone 4 Championships hosted by Virginia Tech on Saturday. The WildCats placed fourth overall and were just one point behind third place Goucher.

Three individual riders did qualify for Nationals. Abby Carpenter and Kirby Tidmore were first in the Walk Trot and Novice Flat, respectively. Caroline Houston was second in the Novice Jumps. Although missing out on moving to Nationals, Raynah Roberts was third in Walk Trot Canter.

In the team competition, Tidmore was first in the open flat and Houston was first in Intermediate Fences.  Carly Stirewalt had a second place result in Intermediate Flat. Other results from the team portion included Tidmore coming in fourth in Open Fences, Carpenter fourth in Walk Trot Canter, Charlotte Hudson fifth in Walk Trot, and Molly McLaughlin fifth in Novice Fences.

Carpenter, Tidmore and Houston will move on to the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) Nationals May 3-6 in Harrisburg, Pa.
