Clem and Rama Finish Up XC at Regionals
MOUNT BERRY, GA – The Randolph College cross country program sent two runners to the NCAA South/Southeast Regionals on Saturday, with Alex Clem representing the men's program and Taylor Rama representing the women. Both raced well in the final meet of the season, which was hosted at Berry College.
Clem ran the 8K course in one of his top times on the year. He crossed the finish line at 28:06.2, which was a full minute better than his time at the ODAC Championships. Near the end of the race, Clem used a late kick to beat a runner from UT-Dallas by less than a second. In addition to that, Clem beat 117 competitors on the day.
Rama completed her final cross country race for the WildCats in style. She ran her fastest 6K of the year, coming in at 26:11.8, which improved on her last race by over a half of a minute. Rama claimed 122 place at the meet, narrowly edging out a harrier from Methodist for the spot. In total, she beat 91 other runners at the meet.
While both ran well, neither qualified for the National Championship Meet. Rama's cross country career may be over, but her and Clem will begin preparation for the Indoor Track season, which begins in December.
