Randolph to host Season-Opening WildCat Hokum Karem
LYNCHBURG, VA – For the second year in a row, the Randolph College cross country teams will begin the season by hosting a home meet at Humankind. However, this year's race at the course located off of Rivermont Avenue will have a few different twists.
The Hokum Karem will feature several teams from the region, but it will not be a traditional race. All of the teams competing will be broken up into pairs (in the event two teams have odd numbers of runners, the runners will be combined to form a team). Each pair will then alternate one-mile loops, until the pair has completed 10 total miles in the men's race, and six totals miles in the women's race. Team scores will then be judged by the three-fastest pairs per school.
The meet will feature five other institutions on the men's side and four on the women's. Lynchburg College, Methodist University, William Peace University, and Southern Virginia University will all run in both races, while Hampden-Sydney College will send a men's team to the race.
