Men's Cross Country Braves Difficult Conditions at ODAC Championships

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Randolph's six runners finished strongly today at the ODAC Championships, covered in mud and rain.

The WildCats strategically set up their start to stay together early, avoiding the traffic during the rain-soaked start.

The pack broke apart on the first of three loops of the course, as the 110 runners began to separate.

Senior Chris Hollingsworth once again led the way for the WildCats, just under the 6:00 mile average, posting a time of 29:43.5, good for 48th place.

Following him was junior Donald Saltmarsh, whose time of 32:14.3 placed him 78th.

In 96th and 98th, first-year Brian McManus and senior Connor Dye finished just one spot apart.

Head coach Bill Cooper's final two runners to navigate the slick course were first-year AJ Palomar and senior Jake Schrank.

A flock of Eagles from Bridgewater finished in spots No. 5-8 to lead the way to an ODAC title.

Randolph finished 11th.
