LYNCHBURG, Va. – Philemon Afrifa-Boakye (Accra, Ghana/Mfanisipim) turned in a new school record mark in the long jump event as the Randolph College men's track and field team hosted the 2019 Outdoor Track and Field Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Championships from Friday-Saturday, April 19-20 at WildCat Stadium.
Afrifa-Boakye took ninth in the event with a mark of 6.43m, defeating his previous school standard of 6.41m. The senior also earned a height of 1.81m in the high jump before posting a mark of 13.41m in the triple jump to finish sixth overall.
Zachary Williby (Orange, Va./Orange County) had the top mark for Randolph in discus, posting a distance of 24.43m while Mitchell Doss (Hurt, Va./Gretna) recorded the best finishes for the WildCats in the hammer throw and shot put, earning marks of 34.52m and 13.19m, respectively. Devon Davis (Galax, Va./Galax) posted a distance of 39.42m in the javelin while Karim Frazier (Norfolk, Va./Lake Taylor) took sixth in the pole vault with a height of 3.93m before recording the fastest-time for Randolph in the 200 meter dash, clocking in at 23.18 seconds.
Lamont Mohabir (Mechanicsville, Va./Lee-Davis) and Jared Ruddock (Lorton, Va./West Springfield) represented the WildCats in the 100 meter dash, crossing the finish line in 11.72 seconds and 12.44 seconds, respectively, while DJ Petty (Mechanicsville, Va./Lee-Davis) placed fourth in the 110 hurdles with a time of 15.25 seconds.
The WildCats finished ninth out of 10 teams. Bridgewater College claimed the ODAC crown with 180 points, edging out Washington and Lee University which totaled 179 points. The University of Lynchburg rounded out the top three with 163.5 points.
