SALEM, Va. – The Randolph College men's track and field team competed in the aptly named Last Minute Invitational hosted by Roanoke College on Saturday afternoon.
One of the best performances for Randolph came from Philemon Afrifa-Boakye (Accra, Ghana/Mfanisipim) who placed first in the high jump with a height of 1.79m before earning second in the triple jump with a mark of 13.09m.
Mitchell Doss (Hurt, Va./Gretna) tossed a mark of 12.00m in the shot put, which was good enough for second, before taking fourth in the weight throw with a measure of 11.22m. Schlitz Masheleni had the best performance for the WildCats in the long jump with a mark of 4.77m to take 11th-place overall.
Brayden Epperly (Bedford, Va./Staunton River) posted the fastest Randolph time in the 500 meter race, crossing the line in 1:15.34 to finish fifth in the field while Mason Dye (Rosedale, Va./Honaker) earned a fourth-place finish in the 3,000 meter run with a time of 10:19.38.
Caleb Schmitzer (Wilson, N.C./Fike) was the only WIldCat to compete in the mile, clocking in at 5:17.52 while Lamont Mohabir had the fastest 200 meter time for Randolph, finishing the race in 24.63 seconds.
The WildCats next compete at the VMI Winter Relays from Friday-Saturday, Feb. 8-9.
