LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Randolph College men's tennis team fell to Randolph-Macon College, 5-0, on Saturday afternoon at the Crosswhite Athletic Club.
The match was previously scheduled to be at Randolph-Macon but forecasted rain pushed the contest indoors at the Crosswhite Athletic Club in Lynchburg. Due to the match being inside, it was played to decision.
The YellowJackets swept doubles play with the tandem of Brandon Braud (Moseley, Va./Cosby) and Karson Healy (Chesapeake, Va./Western Branch) falling in the No. 1 match, 8-2, while Alex Kulvivat (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) and Andrew Webb dropped an 8-1 decision at No. 2. The duo of Jose Merhej (Fairfax, Va./Oakton) and Emad Davis fell in the No. 3 match, 8-0.
Randolph-Macon clinched the match win with two singles victories. Healy dropped his No. 2 match, 6-1, 6-2 while Braud fell to his counterpart at No. 3, 6-3, 6-2.
Randolph falls to 0-16, 0-10 ODAC and will close out its season on the road at Shenandoah University on Friday, April 19. Match time is set for 4 p.m.
