Men’s Tennis Falls to Virginia Wesleyan

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Randolph College men's tennis team dropped a 9-0 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) decision to visiting Virginia Wesleyan University on Sunday afternoon. 

Prior to the match, the WildCats honored lone senior Emad Davis. The Marlins would take all three doubles matches before winning all six singles matches to complete the sweep.

Karson Healy (Chesapeake, Va./Western Branch) fell in the No. 1 spot, 6-1, 6-0 while Brandon Braud (Moseley, Va./Cosby) dropped the No. 2 match, 6-0, 6-0. Andrew Webb fell to his counterpart at No. 3, 6-0, 6-0 while Jose Merhej (Fairfax, Va./Oakton) and John Coffron (Front Royal, Va./Warren County) dropped the No. 4 and No. 5 matches, 6-0, 6-0, respectively. Davis fell to his opponent, 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6. 

In doubles action, Braud and Healy fell at No. 1, 8-0, while Merhej and Webb teamed up at No. 2, dropping their match with a score of 8-0 as well. The Marlins secured the third doubles match by defeating the tandem of Coffron and Davis, 8-0. 

Randolph drops to 0-14, 0-8 ODAC and is back in action on Thursday, April 11 when it travels to the University of Lynchburg for a 3 p.m. ODAC match-up.
