Men’s Tennis Falls to Roanoke, 6-3

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Randolph College men's tennis team dropped a 6-3 decision to visiting Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) foe Roanoke College on Thursday afternoon at the Randolph Tennis Courts. 

The WildCats earned two wins through defaults at No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles before Alex Kulvivat (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) clinched a victory of 3-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-7) at the No. 1 singles match to hand Randolph its final win. 

In other singles action, Karson Healy (Chesapeake, Va./Western Branch) fell in the No. 2 spot, 6-2, 6-2 while Brandon Braud (Moseley, Va./Cosby) dropped his No. 3 match, 6-3, 6-4. Andrew Webb fell to his opponent, 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4 while Jose Merhej (Fairfax, Va./Oakton) dropped a 6-0, 6-1 decision to his counterpart at No. 5. 

Although the Maroons took two of the three doubles matches, Randolph did not make it an easy victory as Braud and Healy fell, 8-5, at No. 1 while Webb and Kulvivat were defeated at No. 2 with a score of 8-6. 

The WildCats drop to 0-13, 0-7 ODAC and are back in action Sunday, April 7 when they host Virginia Wesleyan University at 2:30 p.m.
