FARMVILLE, Va. – The Randolph College men's tennis team fell to host Hampden-Sydney College, 9-0, in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) match-up on Wednesday afternoon.
The Tigers swept all three doubles matches before clinching all six singles matches to earn the victory.
The tandem of Brandon Braud (Moseley, Va./Cosby) and Karson Healy (Chesapeake, Va./Western Branch) fell, 8-0, at No. 1 while the duo of Alex Kulvivat (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) and Andrew Webb dropped an 8-1 decision at No. 2. Hampden-Sydney clinched the win at No. 3 as John Coffron (Front Royal, Va./Warren County) and Jose Merhej (Fairfax, Va./Oakton) fell, 8-0, to their opponents.
In singles play, Kulvivat fell to his counterpart, 6-2, 6-0 in the No. 1 spot while Healy dropped a 6-0, 6-0 decision at No. 2. Braud fell at No. 3 with a score of 6-1, 6-1 while Webb fell, 6-1, 6-0 at No. 4 and Merhej dropped a 6-2, 6-0 decision at No. 5. The Tigers completed the sweep as Coffron fell at No. 6, 6-0, 6-0.
The WildCats fall to 0-10, 0-4 ODAC and are back in action on Saturday, March 23 when they travel to Emory & Henry College for a 1 p.m. conference match.
