Men’s Tennis Drops 6-3 Decision to Moravian

HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Randolph College men's tennis team closed out its spring break trip in South Carolina with a 6-3 loss to Moravian College on Monday afternoon.

Alex Kulvivat (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) and Jose Merhej (Fairfax, Va./Oakton) earned the lone doubles match for the WildCats, taking down their opponents, 8-4, in the No. 2 spot. The tandem of Brandon Braud (Moseley, Va./Cosby) and Karson Healy (Chesapeake, Va./Western Branch) dropped a hard fought 8-5 decision in the No. 1 match while the duo of John Coffron (Front Royal, Va./Warren County) and Emad Davis fell at the No. 3 spot, 8-0. 

The WildCats fought hard in singles action. Kulvivat took the win in the No. 1 spot after winning a tie breaker for a score of 6-2, 6-3, 1-0 (11-9) while Healy also played a tie breaker in the No. 2 match but ultimately fell, 6-1, 3-6, 0-1 (6-10). Braud grabbed the third and final win for the WildCats in the No. 3 match with a score of 7-6, 6-0 while Andrew Webb fell at No. 4, 6-2, 7-5. Merhej dropped the No. 5 match, 6-2, 6-4 while Coffron fell in the No. 6 spot, 6-0, 6-0.

The WildCats drop to 0-8 and are back in action on Saturday, March 16 when they host Bridgewater at 1 p.m. at the Randolph Tennis Courts.
