Men’s Tennis Drops 5-1 Decision to St. Mary’s Md.

LYNCHBURG, Va.- The Randolph men's tennis team hosted St. Mary's Md. on Friday afternoon. The Seahawks won by the score of 5-1.

Two of the three doubles matches were close. Brandon Braud (Moseley, Va./Cosby) and Karson Healy (Chesapeake, Va./Western Branch) were edged out by the pair of Jon Gorel and Ethan Garren 8-6. Jose Merhej (Fairfax, Va./Oakton) and Alex Kulviat (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) also had a close battle with Ron Stith and Sam Sheats with Sith and Sheats winning 8-4.

The WildCats' lone win came in second singles. Healy was able to hold off Garren 8-7 after winning the tiebreaker 10-8.

The men travel to Hilton Head, S.C. for Spring Break. The WildCats will play Wilkes and Ohio Northern on Sunday.
