Men’s Tennis Drops 9-0 Decision to Southern Virginia

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Randolph College men's tennis team fell 9-0 to visiting Southern Virginia University on Saturday afternoon at the Randolph Tennis Courts.

The WildCats had to forfeit one doubles match and one singles match due to only have five players. The duo of Alex Kulvivat (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) and Max Presley (Manakin Sabot, Va./Goochland) fell to Paul Monson and Kukutla Motlojoa in No. 1 doubles with a score of 8-2, while Karson Healy (Chesapeake, Va./Western Branch) and Brandon Braud (Moseley, Va./Cosby) dropped an 8-1 decision in the No. 2 spot to Adam Kelly and Cody Akin.

In singles action, Kulvivat fell 6-0, 6-0 in the No. 1 spot while Braud dropped his No. 2 singles match, 6-0, 6-1. Healy fell at the No. 3 spot, 6-2, 6-1 while Presley fell at No. 4, 6-1, 6-2 Jose Merhej (Fairfax, Va./Oakton) dropped his No. 5 match to Akin, 6-0, 6-0.

The WildCats will close out their fall season tomorrow when they travel to Averett University for a 1 p.m. match.
