LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Randolph College men's tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision to visiting Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) foe Hampden-Sydney College on Friday afternoon.
Three of the Tigers wins came from forfeit matches but were able to complete the sweep as they claimed victories in two doubles matches and four singles matches.
The tandem of Bradley Strober (Stockton, N.J./Hunterdon Central) and Joe Kaneda (Media, Pa./Penncrest) fell 8-1 in No. 1 doubles while the pairing of John Coffron (Front Royal, Va./Warren County) and Ben Roberts (Davidson, N.C/Davidson Day) also fell 8-1 in the No. 2 spot.
In singles action, Strober dropped a 6-2, 6-0 decision at No. 1 while Kaneda fell in the No. 2 spot, 6-0, 6-1. Coffron and Roberts both fell, 6-0, 6-0, in the No. 3 and No. 4 spots, respectively.
The WildCats drop to 2-11 overall and 1-8 in the ODAC and will return on Sunday, April 22 to close out their season at home against Shenandoah. Start time is set for 1 p.m.
