SALEM, Va. – First-year swimmers Oscar Onoszko and Andrew Scales set new school standards for the Randolph College men's swimming team as the WildCats fell to host Roanoke College, 117-48, and topped Ferrum College, 80-59, on Saturday afternoon.

Onoszko defeated his own school record in the 200-yard freestyle, clocking in at 1:54.96, to finish first before grabbing another event win in the 100 backstroke, touching the pad in 1:00.64, shattering the previous time of 1:03.28 set at Greensboro two weeks.

Scales managed to secure a new record of his own as the first-year earned a second-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:44.71, obliterating the previous standard by 42 seconds. Scales also locked down third-place points in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:22.50.

Jeffrey Oliveri earned third-place honors in the 50-yard freestyle (23.21) and the 100-yard freestyle (53.56) while Kieran Saienni placed third in the 100-yard backstroke, touching the pad in a personal best time of 1:07.22.

The WildCats closed out the day with a second-place finish in the 800-yard freestyle relay as the quartet of Oliveri, Saienni, Scales and Onoszko locked down a time of 8:21.78.

Randolph will return to action on Saturday, Nov. 18 when it competes in a tri-meet hosted by Hollins University.
