BRIDGEWATER, Va. – The Randolph College men's swimming team won 12 of 28 events to topple host and Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) rival Bridgewater College on Saturday afternoon in Nininger Pool.
Jeffrey Oliveri and Oscar Onoszko each took home three individual event wins for the WildCats. Oliveri earned top-place finishes in the 50 backstroke (31.37 seconds), 50 freestyle (26.52 seconds) and the 100 freestyle (1:01.04) while Onoszko won the 50 breaststroke (33.28 seconds), the 100 breaststroke (1:13.40) and the 100 IM (1:07.80).
Andrew Scales also pulled in big wins for the WildCats, taking home individual honors in the 200 freestyle (2:14.89) and the 100 butterfly (1:10.68) before placing second in the 50 butterfly with a time of 30.79 seconds.
Another WildCat swimmer to earn two events wins was Banks Bullard who took the 800 freestyle in an event winning time of 11:46.49 before locking down the top time of 5:39.57the 400 freestyle. Bullard also added a third-place finish in the 50 breaststroke (40.84 seconds).
Kieran Saienni earned a first-place finish in the 100 backstroke, clocking in at 1:16.45, in addition to his second-place time of 33.74 seconds in the 50 backstroke and a third-place time of 28.27 seconds in the 50 freestyle.
The quartet of Oliveri, Scales, Daniel Bennett-Blake and Onoszko rounded out the day with a first-place time of 3:58.83 in 400 freestyle relay.
The WildCats are back in action on Saturday, Nov. 11 when they travel to Roanoke for a tri-match.
