Each week, the Randolph College athletics department showcases an athlete with our WildCat of the Week. This week is a first year athlete from the men's swimming team Oscar Onoszko.
Onoszko put together a strong showing for the WildCats at their meet at Greensboro this past weekend, setting brand new standards for the season. He took top honors in the 100-yard butterfly and the 200-yard freestyle, posting times of 56.68 seconds and 1:55.93, respectively. His times currently rank seventh and ninth in the ODAC season top-times charts.
Onoszko also landed a second-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:05.25, just 0.28 seconds short of his previous season best mark. For his efforts, he was named the ODAC Men's Swimming Athlete of the Week on Monday.
Onoszko was attracted to Randolph by head coach Taylor Steele and the surrounding area and is excited to be a part of the new men's swimming program. In his free time outside of classes and practice, he likes to hang out with his friends.
