LEXINGTON, Va.- An early Washington and Lee goal was the only scoring in the game as the Generals held off the Randolph men's soccer team 1-0 on Saturday afternoon. The WildCats' record drops to 4-6-3 overall and 3-4-1 in the ODAC. W&L moves up to 7-3-1 and 5-0-1 in the ODAC.

The Wildcats were held to six shots and just one on goal. That came courtesy of Gabe Kreuger (Jacksonville, Fla./White Oak) at 56:23.

The Generals struck at just under the 15 minute mark in the first half. Harris Salom passed through traffic to Eric Recke who one touched the ball and shot into the back of the net for the score.

W&L nearly had its second goal of the afternoon in the 24th minute but Dylan Ritch's shot was off the crossbar. Randolph was close to equalizing the score at 56:20 but Adam Watson's (Richmond, Va./Midlothian) shot attempt also was off of the crossbar.

Erick Cortez-Martinez (Winston-Salem, N.C./North Forsyth) had five saves in net for the WildCats. Michael Nyc stopped one shot for the Generals.

W&L led 17-6 in shots. Both teams registered two corner kicks each.

The WildCats go back on the road on Wednesday as they go up against Shenandoah. Game time will be at 7:00 p.m.
