LYNCHBURG, Va.- The 2018 Randolph men's soccer schedule was released on Friday and besides an always challenging conference docket, the non-conference lineup will be a tough navigation. This year's non-conference opponents sport a winning percentage of .606 from a year ago.
The 2018 campaign begins on September 1 at the Frostburg State University Kickoff Tournament as the WildCats take on DeSales University. The Bulldogs won the MAC Conference in 2017 and qualified for the NCAA Tournament. It will be just the second regular season match between the two schools but the first meeting since the Second Round of the 2011 NCAA Tournament which Randolph won 3-2. The 'Cats wrap up the weekend with the host Bobcats the next day.
After traveling to Hood for a weekday game on September 5, the WildCats host Greensboro in their home opener on September 7 followed by a first-ever meeting with Washington College on September 8. Sandwiched between three other home dates is a road contest at Christopher Newport on September 12.
Berry is another first timer to WildCat Stadium on September 15. The Old Dominion Athletic Conference opener is September 19 against Randolph-Macon with Roanoke next on September 22.
A difficult stretch follows with five of seven games away from home. Cross-city rival and defending ODAC champion Lynchburg comes to Randolph on October 10 followed by a trip to Lexington for a date with ODAC Tournament runner-up Washington and Lee on October 13. The regular season concludes on October 23 with the home finale against ODAC newcomer Ferrum.
